Cadbury hope to develop a low-calorie chocolate. - But of course it won't make you any slimmer. - That's the Calorie Myth...)o:

Cadbury plans low-calorie chocolate - Telegraph

Extract:

"Chocolate lovers who want to watch their waistline could be in for a treat.

Cadbury Schweppes is working on a low-fat, reduced-sugar Dairy Milk, which it hopes to launch as part of a push into the low-calorie confectionery market.

In addition, Britain's biggest sweet maker is this week launching Maynards Wine Gums Light, with half the sugar and 30 per cent fewer calories than in a standard packet. Low-calorie Bassett's Allsorts will follow this year.

The company hopes that these will be only a precursor of what will become the "Holy Grail" of sweet makers: a low-calorie chocolate bar that tastes no different to a normal slab of milk chocolate.

Tony Bilsborough, from Cadbury, said yesterday: "We have scientists in laboratories working on it. It is the Holy Grail of all chocolate manufacturers."

The market for low-calorie chocolate has grown across Europe as young women, in particular, try to reduce their calorie intake, but are not prepared to cut back on snacks.

The recommended calorie intake for a woman is 2,000 calories a day."

BUT reducing calorie intake does not reduce obesity and is usually harmful. See Biggest ever study shows that diets do not work

Obesity is NOT caused by overeating. It is caused by fluid retention, frequently because of taking prescribed medications, especially steroids such as prednisolone, prednisone and HRT, and anti-depressants such as amitriptyline. These medications cause sodium and water retention. Obesity can be easily reduced by seriously reducing your salt/sodium intake and eating plenty of fruit and fresh vegetables. Avoid convenience meals/processed food because these are usually very high in salt. Try to cook from scratch with fresh ingredients. - It is important not to restrict calories. - 'Slimming' or 'dieting' is unnecessary, ineffective and often extremely harmful.

Do Botox parties need to be regulated?

Ministers accused of bottling out of Botox clampdown - Guardian

Extract:

"The government was yesterday accused of "bottling out" of introducing regulations to clamp down on Botox parties and beauty clinics which offer aesthetic fillers to disguise wrinkles and plump up lips.

Although surgeons who perform face-lifts and liposuction are subject to some regulation, high street beauticians who offer Botox and fillers are not. And while Botox is a prescription drug which should only be given by a doctor or a nurse under supervision, there are suspicions that the rules are sometimes broken.

An expert working group reporting in January 2005 was also concerned by reports of Botox parties, where champagne was consumed and women who wanted to lose their laughter lines were offered two jabs for the price of one.

The government accepted the report's recommendation that clinics offering Botox and fillers should be regulated by the Healthcare Commission, which monitors the work of the NHS. But yesterday the health minister Lord Hunt said the industry would have to regulate itself. "Cosmetic surgery providers have shown real commitment to improving levels of quality and safety, and so I have decided to ask the industry to take the lead in further improving standards," he said."

What are normally considered as signs of aging or diseases of aging are not normally caused by the passage of the years; they are often the cumulative effect of dieting, poor nutrition and the side-effects of many drugs which are too readily prescribed, often for too long a time, in too high a dose and without adequate monitoring.

To preserve your youthful looks as long as possible eat good meals prepared without the addition of salt and eat plenty of fruit and fresh vegetables, and avoid taking drugs even if they are prescribed by a doctor, unless they are really necessary and are properly monitored. NEVER go on a diet! - ALL diets in which you eat fewer calories than your body requires are harmful. - Read page http://www.wildeaboutsteroids.co.uk/story.html

Which? mag finds that some low fat Weight Watchers products for people on diets are high in sugar. - So what! - It's SALT that causes weight gain.

The savoury ready meals 'that can contain more sugar than ice cream' - Telegraph

Extract:

"Some savoury ready meals contain more sugar than vanilla ice cream, according to a study today by the consumer watchdog

A report by Which? magazine found that some low fat Weight Watchers products aimed at people on diets were also high in sugar."

If you are on a diet to lose weight, I urge you to stop dieting. - Obesity is not caused by overeating, by too many calories, by too much fat or too much sugar. - It is caused by fluid retention, usually because of sensitivity to salt which in turn has often been caused by taking prescription drugs. - You can lose weight fast and very easily, without hunger and without exercising and completely safely. - All you need to do is cut down on the amount of salt and salty food you eat. - Give up counting calories altogether! - Just eat fresh food, cooked from scratch, and be sure to include plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit.

Diet-mad Britain has become a nation of self-obsessed, yo-yo dieters who dream of transforming their lives in only seven days...

Diet-mad Britain has become a nation of self-obsessed, yo-yo dieters who dream of transforming their lives in only seven days

Extract:

"Britain has become a nation of self-obsessed, yo-yo dieters who dream of transforming their lives in only seven days with the help of a hypnotist, according to a survey of the reading public.

Public library statistics show that it has taken only 10 years for improving titles such as Stephen Hawking's A Brief History of Time to be overtaken by television spin-offs and diet compendiums.

Books such as You Are What You Eat, by Gillian McKeith, the strident TV nutritionist, and the hypnotist Paul McKenna's Change Your Life in Seven Days, now top the non-fiction list."

They should read the truth in my blog. - See Do you believe that obesity is caused by over-eating - by consuming too many calories? - I invite you to consider the evidence and think again!

Obesity is not caused by eating too much. - It is caused/initiated by fluid retention. - Dieting is potentially harmful.

The biggest, most harmful con trick in the history of civilisation! - The obesity myths of the experts have damaged the lives of millions of people.

The biggest, most harmful con trick in the history of civilisation! - The obesity myths of the experts have damaged the health, happiness and life chances of millions of innocent people!

How many thousands of times have you been informed that obesity is caused by over-eating and/or too little exercise? - It isn't true... - There's not a scrap of evidence to support this theory. It is merely an assumption.

Here is an extract from my 'political' page. - I urge you to read ALL the page, right to the end. - You will then have a good idea of where the responsibility/blame lies for the present 'obesity epidemic'; it lies squarely with the professions who are extremely highly paid precisely to prevent this sort of health catastrophe - medics, politicians, etc.

"Calorie counting and advice about increasing exercise and reducing fat and carbohydrate intake to reduce obesity are ineffective, counter-productive and often damaging. - See the article in the British Medical Journal of November 2003 BMJ article for actual research on what happens when this advice is followed! - Over 800 obese adults were put on energy deficit diets, given diet sheets and plenty of instruction and help from trained staff, and apparently, visited fortnightly for a year, at the end of which they had GAINED weight! This mirrors the real experience of obese people, viz. - dieting makes you fat.

It is commonly accepted now, except by the 'experts', that less than 5% of dieters actually lose weight, and most gain weight as a result of dieting. - Even the ones who manage to lose weight do not usually improve their health. - See
Guardian article for a report in The Guardian of Monday, June 27th 2005. It is about a huge research study of nearly 3000 people over a period of 18 years. The study found that overweight people who diet to reach a healthier weight are more likely to die young than those who remain fat. It also found that dieting causes physiological damage that in the long term can outweigh the benefits of the weight loss.

Contributing to the increase in obesity we have the widespread prescribing of steroids and HRT and other drugs which cause weight gain, and the failure of doctors to adhere to the protocols connected with the prescribing and monitoring of steroids. But pre-eminent, in my opinion, is the catastrophically damaging calorie-reduction advice that continues to be given despite such a wealth of evidence that it is bad advice.

Another possible factor is the increase in the amount of oestrogen in the water table.

Salt produces obesity only in vulnerable people, i.e.
1. People whose veins are weak because of immaturity (babies, children),
2. People whose veins are weak because of steroids, HRT, amitriptyline or certain other prescribed drugs, too readily prescribed, often in very high dose.
3. People whose natural hormone levels are abnormally high (pregnant women, PMT sufferers).

4. 'Slimmers' - People whose blood vessel walls have been weakened by 'slimming' - i.e. eating insufficient food.

Most medics do not understand what sodium retention is, and most are unaware that tablets they prescribe are causing this extremely damaging condition. They tend to blame obesity, mistakenly, on overeating. Similarly, most nutritionists and dieticians do not realise that obese people need to lose excess water to lose weight, and that excess water held in the body will not be affected by cutting calories. There can scarcely be anyone who has not heard hundreds of times over the message that overweight people should cut calories and cut down on fat. They have been conditioned to believe this. They do not need to be told it another thousand times.

The advice from the nutritionists is WRONG. It does not work! This nation HAS reduced its intake of fat for some years now. With what result? Ever increasing obesity levels! Obese people need to concentrate on reducing salt, not calories.

Since the summer of 2001 I have been writing to MPs, to medical people, to journalists, to nutritionists and others, urging that suitable warnings be printed on packs of the tablets so that the destruction of more lives can be prevented. I have written hundreds of letters. The warning label should say something like:
DO NOT EAT SALT, OR FOODS CONTAINING SALT, WHILE TAKING THIS MEDICATION, BECAUSE IT COULD CAUSE FLUID RETENTION RESULTING IN MASSIVE WEIGHT GAIN.

To the best of my knowledge, no action has been taken. Nor is the public being told the truth about weight gain and weight loss. The best way to lose weight is to concentrate on eating less sodium and more potassium. (A book, written a few years ago by a hospital professor, about the health dangers of salt, makes no mention of steroid victims and specifically states, incorrectly, that HRT does not cause a salt problem!)"
