If you have Kidney Cancer there is a helpful site you can visit: http://www.jameswhalefund.org/ - This is their mission statement:
"Our mission at the James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer is to help reduce the harm caused by kidney cancer by increasing knowledge and awareness, providing patient information and by supporting research into the causes, prevention and treatment of the disease.
The Fund was set up in 2006 by broadcaster James Whale who lost a kidney to cancer six years earlier.
We can only achieve our aim with your support. So whether you’ve had kidney cancer, or live with and look after someone who has the disease, if you’re a medical professional with experience of the condition, an organisation with resources to contribute or someone who simply wants to help, the Fund would welcome your time, expertise or money."
The website also has a very friendly, supportive discussion forum.
