The claim is made that " New 'thin pill' could replace surgery". - Beware! - Big Pharma is planning yet more dangerous junk with which to harm us..)o:

New 'thin pill' could replace surgery

Extract from the Telegraph:

"A team at University College London is working towards developing a weight loss pill that makes people feel they are full after eating a small amount of food.

The stomach has to expand to digest food, the basic process by which the body harvests calories from meals, but scientists have found a way of stopping this from happening.

The pill could offer an alternative to stomach stapling - gastroplasty - in which a band or surgery is used to reduce the size of the stomach. This can result in weight loss of up to 7st in a year.

However, surgery can be risky with one in every 100 patients dying within 12 months. The potential new drug is described in the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics by Dr Brian King and Dr Andrea Townsend-Nicholson."

There is no need for surgery OR for pills that make people feel they are full after eating a small amount of food. - The fastest, safest and surest way for overweight/obese people to lose excess weight is to avoid eating salt and salty food. - This is because fluid retention/salt sensitivity, and not overeating, is the cause of the high incidence of obesity.

Fluid retention itself has a number of causes, the most damaging of which is taking certain prescribed medications, including tricyclic antidepressants, especially amitriptyline, and certain steroids, including prednisone and prednisolone, and HRT and other drugs containing oestrogen. But the most tragic cause of fluid retention leading to obesity is children eating salty food. Pregnancy also can result in salt sensitivity.

Dieting/calorie reduction is harmful and does not work and it is mischievous that it is still advocated.

There is a great deal more information and detail about this on my website. - Every overweight person who has followed my advice has lost weight easily and felt a great deal better. - I am not selling anything...(o:

Pills are not the answer to the problem of obesity. - They are the biggest cause of the problem...

All you have to do to lose excess weight is to eat less salt.

Lose weight, reduce your risk of most cancers, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, stroke, heart disease, vascular dementia, osteopenia, osteoporosis, hypercholesterolaemia, depression, liver and kidney problems, and improve your health in many other ways without drugs or expense by eating less salt! - Try it! - You will feel so much better!
