The Telegraph reports the amazing news that Jamie Neale, the 19 year old British backer, missing for 12 days in the New South Wales Blue Mountains, has been found alive, despite the cold Australian winter.
I heard Jamie's joyful father, earlier this morning, being interviewed on the radio. He said he had been optimistic about finding his son alive, because as a family they do not feel the cold much, and because his son is a very resourceful fellow. - Jamie had found seeds to eat and some fresh water to drink and had slept under a log.
Jamie is now in hospital, recovering from dehydration and exhaustion, but pretty fit, considering his 12 day ordeal. His big mistake, apparently, was to have gone on his walk without taking his mobile with him.
