Pfizer Inc.'s Zyvox antibiotic can cause potentially fatal central nervous system reactions in patients who also take antidepressants that increase levels of the brain chemical serotonin, U.S. regulators said.

Harmful antipsychotic drugs are still being wrongly prescribed to dementia sufferers
BBC News reports that harmful antipsychotic drugs are still being widely and inappropriately prescribed to elderly dementia sufferers. "More than 50 health and social care organisations are calling for fresh action to cut the prescription of "chemical cosh" drugs. Around 180,000 people with dementia are thought to be prescribed antipsychotic drugs in the UK. But 80% of those prescriptions are said by critics to be inappropriate. Long-term use of the drugs can make dementia symptoms worse, reduce the ability to talk and walk and increase the risk of stroke and even death."

Pharmageddon: don't let prescription drugs damage your health!
"Pharmageddon is "the prospect of a world in which medicines and medicine produce more ill-health than health, and when medical progress does more harm than good" -- and it is no longer a prospect but fully upon us." - See Dr Mercola's article. Prescription drugs are not harmless, drug companies are not trustworthy, and the public are not protected because drug companies get shielded from the full rigour of the Law because they are big business and are deemed too big to be allowed to fail - just like we've experienced with the banking scandal.
Good nutrition is the best doctor and the safest medicine.

Morphine injections caused death of two patients: doctor found not guilty of murder
See Telegraph report. The coroner commented "that some recommendations to protect people after the case of Harold Shipman, the GP who killed more than 200 patients, had not been implemented."
Personally, I insist on no morphine - ever.

Don't damage your health with prescription medicines
The Independent reports on increasing problems of addiction to prescription medicines and illustrates the article with examples of celebrity deaths caused by these drugs.
Prominent among harmful prescribed drugs are tranquillisers, anti-depressants, pain-killers and steroids. If you value your health you should avoid taking these potentially harmful pharmaceuticals (some of which are obtainable without prescription) unless they are absolutely necessary, because the adverse side-effects of the drugs, including possible addiction, are frequently far worse than the health problem for which they are being taken. - ALWAYS check out the possible side-effects and bear in mind that drug companies have a track record of not disclosing unfavourable information about their products if they can get away with it.

Eli Lilly Urged Doctors to Prescribe Zyprexa Inappropriately
Bloomberg reports further on the Eli Lilly/Zyprexa scandal.
Doctors were urged to prescribe Zyprexa for elderly dementia patients, even though it was known that the drug would not help with that condition.
I urge you to read the Bloomberg article.
This is yet another horrifying example of deliberate wrongdoing by drug companies, with the result in this instance that "death rates among older dementia patients taking Zyprexa were “significantly greater” than those who didn’t get the medicine."
I believe that the only health in which drug companies are interested is the health of their own financial profits.
For your own health's sake it would be better to avoid taking pharmaceutical drugs unless they are absolutely necessary.

Study Confirms Antipsychotics Pose Heart Risk
Latest Generation of Drugs Provides No Safety Advantage; Warning on Children, Elderly
Patients taking the latest generation of antipsychotic drugs are twice as likely to suffer sudden cardiac failure and death as nonusers, according to a new study that found such medicines are no safer than the older ones they have largely replaced. Though the health risks of antipsychotic drugs for elderly patients have been previously documented, the study, published in this week's New England Journal of Medicine, was one of the largest to date, and it found dangers for younger adults, too. The study's findings add to a growing body of research questioning the safety, cost and effectiveness of so-called atypical antipsychotic drugs.

More Kids Are Taking More Meds Than Ever Before. - This is very risky...
There follows another cut and paste from the Dr Rath Foundation newsletter complete with the newsletter's Comment:
More American children are taking pills for diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol than ever before, reflecting a rise in chronic diseases related to obesity. The use of drugs for type-2 diabetes, in particular, doubled in children ages 5 to 19 and statins rose by 15 percent between 2002 and 2005, according to a study published in the journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Comment: Not content with already having made death by medicine the leading cause of death and injury in the United States, the American medical system is increasingly trying to turn the youngest, most vulnerable, people in the country into lifelong drug-users.
A major cause of ill-health in children is, of course, eating salt and salty food. - See http://www.wildeaboutsteroids.co.uk/children.html
