Obesity increases the risk of dementia
Extract from the Telegraph:
"It is thought that obesity, smoking, high blood pressure and cholesterol levels could increase the risk of dementia by damaging blood vessels in the brain, which in turn leads to the death of brain cells.
Dr Youfa Wang, who led the review, said the results showed that obesity was more likely to be a risk factor for women in the matter of developing Alzheimer's disease, and for men when it came to vascular dementia."
