Doctors and nurses may be banned from dating former patients

No-dating rules for doctors and nurses - Telegraph

Extract:

"Doctors and nurses may be banned from dating former patients unless the professional contact with them was minimal, under new draft guidelines on sexual behaviour between clinicians and patients.

The proposals, the first of their kind, will affect all health-care professionals and are expected to go before ministers for approval in June, says Nursing Standard magazine.

The guidance comes after a number of high-profile cases in which doctors and other health-care staff have sexually abused patients, such as that of the psychiatrists Dr William Kerr and Michael Haslam, both of whom abused vulnerable patients in Yorkshire."
