Provided I take them ASAP after the start of the visual disturbance (aura), I find the paracetamol very effective. They are just about the only pharmaceutical drug that I ever take because so many drugs have bad side-effects. I take the caplets, which are easy to swallow and are very cheap. (What is the point of the more expensive paracetamol, I wonder - the powder packed into gelatine capsules?)
I used to get migraines and other headaches constantly - every day and very severely - until I cut out salt and salty food. - Avoiding salt and salty food as far as possible is the best possible way to prevent/reduce headaches.

I had visual disturbance - flashing, jagged lights - earlier this morning, but I took two paracetamol and this has staved off the migraine headache.
